Formerly professor of International Law at the University of Milan, member emeritus of the Institute of International Law, author of seven volumes of private and public International Law (including two lectures at the Academy of International Law of La Haye, Les Caractères de l’Ordre Juridique International [The Characteristics of the International Legal System] of 1958, and Règles d’Organisation et Règles de Conduite en Droit International [Rules of Organisation and Rules of Behaviour in International Law] of 1976) and some eighty or so articles.
